Hoffman Estates, Illinois: Several public school districts are involved in the education of the children and young adults of Hoffman Estates. Township High School District 211 oversees James B. Conant High School and Hoffman Estates High School. Elementary and middle school education is facilitated by the combined efforts of Community Consolidated School District 54, Community Consolidated School District 15 and Illinois School District U-46. These districts combined manage 11 campuses within Hoffman Estates.

High school graduates who want to stay local may attend Harper College, Devry Institute of Technology, College of DuPage, Wheaton Collect, Elgin Community College or Oakton Community College. All are within 20 miles of Hoffman Estates. The largest of these is also the closest: Harper College in Palatine. Harper offers various associate degrees in arts and sciences.

Hoffman Estates is home to two major natural attractions, Poplar Creek Forest Preserve and Paul Douglas Forest Preserve. At Poplar Creek, volunteers are working on an ongoing basis to restore the land’s natural wetlands, native tallgrass prairie and woodlands. Paul Douglas Forest Preserve is characterized by grasslands, marshes and miles of trails and paths. This site is very popular with bird enthusiasts and hikers.

In late-2006, Hoffman Estates welcomed the opening of the Sears Centre, an 11,000-seat entertainment facility. The facility provides a modern venue for big-name performers plus cultural and sporting events. Four professional sports teams play their home games at the Sears Centre: the Chicago Hounds (hockey), the Chicago Storm (soccer), the Chicago Shamrox (lacrosse) and the Chicago Slaughter (indoor football).
